Group Homes & Independent Living Services

Residential services are provided in a variety of settings throughout western North Dakota, including group homes with 24/hour support, and individualized supports in people’s own homes. The goal of residential services is to provide a person-centered approach and offer a choice of living environments to meet the needs and desires of each person.

Emphasis is placed on assisting people to develop relationships and independent living skills such as cooking, money management, housekeeping, and other activities of daily living.

Where We Provide Support

Intermediate Care Homes

OFI offers personalized living environments for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) with 24-hour staff support in two homes in Williston, one in Stanley, and one in Tioga. Each home offers individual bedrooms with group living spaces. Residents share a living room, kitchen, and bathrooms. Each home can serve up to eight people. People who live here typically have higher support needs than those in a TL Group Home.

Transitional Care Living Homes

OFI offers Transitional Living (TL) Group Homes for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) with 24-hour staff support in three homes in Williston. Each home offers individual bedrooms with group living spaces. Residents share a living room, kitchen, and bathrooms. Each home can serve up to eight people.

Residential/Independent Habilitation

OFI can provide support to people who choose to live in their own home or apartment within the community. The amount of staff support depends on the needs of each person.
